Trump

Trump

With Trump becoming the 45th president of America he has created very much controversy about the health of America and where it stands. With Trump firing the FBI director for not obeying to stop looking into the connections with Russia, leads people to think that Trump has ties with Russia and was communicating with Russia during the election with releasing Hillary's emails. There are some good things Trump has done. Trump has been the first president to touch the western wall which shows our allies that we are here to help and are willing to help those who are in need.

Vietnam

Vietnam War

The Vietnam war was fought over the spreading of communism. With The Soviet Union and China both big world powers becoming communism United States couldn't let anymore countries become communism. The war started on November 1, 1955 with France backing up South Vietnam small force against the rebels of North Vietnam, France was in this all alone. United States was not sending over military but was sending military generals to train the South Vietnam army to fight. In 1968 United states was fully involved in the war. 2.7 million soldiers were deployed to Vietnam 58,148 American soldiers were killed. What made the war in Vietnam so difficult was the way the rebels fought with extreme gorilla warfare. For the soldiers couldn't see their enemy with all the tunnel systems that were built and the traps they made were extremely awful and painful for soldiers. Then with the riots and hate the soldiers were receiving from home destroyed soldiers morality. With soldiers returning home were treated like villains getting eggs and food thrown at them even if they were drafted and was forced to fight.

World War 2- D-Day

D-Day

June 6, 1944 Allied forces stormed the beaches of France to take back France from Axis control. The overall invasion was a success for the allies for this was the start of pushing back the Axis from western front. The original date for the invasion was June 5 but due to weather the invasion was postponed, the Allies dropped thousands of paratroopers behind enemy line in hope to flank the enemy but  with not knowing the land and airplanes being shot down the whole plan of flanking didn't work. With a resulting of nearly 4,000 Allied troops lost storming the beach. The Allied forces landed 326,000 troops, and more than 50,000 vehicles. The storming of beaches on France was truly a miracle with the Allied forces even able to make it on the beach and then push up hill with no protection from German machine gun fire. Hitler made a huge mistake with his most feared tanks the panzers he had called them to sit out in the open ready for the invasion but with the Allied bombing force the tanks to go into hiding, for if Hitler had positioned his tanks correctly the invasion of D-Day could of ended up horrible and the fate of the war could of been completely altered.

Roaring 20s

The Roaring 20s

The roaring 20s is the time between 1920-1929 in United.States. This time period is called the roaring 20s for life was great, the over all feeling was happiness. The reasoning for everyone in the country being happy was inventions. Many day to day items that we use today where invited during this time period: Hair Dyer, Q-tips, Stop lights, Band-Aid, and etc.. Also Chain market stores were created. With the creation of Chain Market stores people all over the country bought the same clothes, food, and listen to the same music. With people all over the country listening to the same music people danced the same and used the same slang, which made everyone feel welcomed and happy. This time period is what immigrants were looking for the economy was doing great, people had jobs and were enjoying life.

WW1-Artillery

Artillery

Artillery played a big part in Trench warfare. With troops sitting in trenches artillery fire would bombard the soldiers in the trenches. With constant bombardment for days soldiers would end up getting shell shock or also known as PTSD today. These bombardments would last days making it so when troops would push the trenches they wouldn't have to deal with enemy fire. Artillery fire is one of the main causes of destruction of war, and causing the most money. The destruction of buildings, and land, with destruction of land created a no man zone between the trenches. Artillery was the most fear of infantry and tanks for the absolute destruction it causes by shrapnel and the blast radius.

Current Event North Korea

North Korea's Nukes

North Korea has tested 6 nuclear bombs in the past months. This is causing many countries to worry and think about a nuclear war. The United Nations have talked about punishments for North Korea but nothing has deterred North Korea to stop.  one missile that was launched exploded with in seconds of launch, reporters have said that this failure wont stop Kim Jung Un on to try and strike U.S.  North Korea's closest country to an Ally is China and China has tried to tell North Korea to stop with the testing but they didn't. Japan has school drills encase of a bombing from North Korea. South Korea has looked for a truce or some sort of an alliance from North Korea in fear of being targeted. I think that all the countries to ban together and put an end to these testing. For a nuclear war will effect everyone and every country. With Kim Jung Un as leader and crazy as he is there is no telling what he will do, this is why we need to put an end to it before it gets even more out of hand.

Progressive Era

Muckrakers

Muckrakers were people that lead the change in Americas factories. Muckrakers are journalist who would go inside a company and see how it runs, than expose the factories wrong doings to the public. One of the most famous would be the book the Jungle it was about the meat industry how they would kill the animals to packing to meat. Muckrakers exposed factories for their wrongs and how they harm society. One of the first muckraker expose was the tenements, how the poorer side of society lived with 2-3 family's sharing one bathroom.
Muckrakers showed the public what the poor have to live in. By doing this it showed America that they need to do something and help each other and clean the streets. Muckrakers would also be the cause of health inspections and why there are labels on all foods. So the public knows what they are buying and are relying on the government to make sure that the food is safe and healthy with health inspections.
